Basil (Basilicus vom Lupus in fabula, translated "The regal wolf from the fairy tale") is Claudia's first "purely" sporting dog. Born in May, 2000, his presuppositions were ideal in every respect: bred from carefully chosen healthy working bloodlines, a good and caring breeder, and last but not least an experienced handler.

His education and training was dual purpose from the beginning: on the one hand he is a very reliable SAR (Search and Rescue) dog and on the other hand he performs most impressively in his SchH exams/championships.

At home he has been a gentle, but stern foster parent for Andreas' dog Ira and is now for Matze. His ways with puppies and small children are truly awesome - but not least his decisive demeanor behind his garden fence makes sure that he is never to be mistaken for "just" a pet dog!
